A better future is within reach for East Africa, but to grasp it will require a new generation of educated, capable, open-minded leaders, representing the area's great diversity of ethnic groups.

The East African Scholars Fund, founded in 2013, helps high-achieving students from low-income communities in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi achieve their dream of studying at the world's best universities.  EASF supports programs in East African countries which identify, select, tutor and mentor such scholars capable of earning full-need scholarships, primarily at North American universities, and who intend to return home to pursue their careers.

EASF endorses programs where a little money goes a long way. The fund is a primary sponsor of Kenya's Education and Social Empowerment Program which has invested $225,000 over its first nine years to help 65 students earn scholarships valued at approximately $16.5 million at top U.S. universities.
